Mainland premier soccer league club Azam has delayed launch of their new outfit to replace the current one which was in use for the entire previous season.
The club’s team manager Patrick Kahemele said plans are underway to replace the last season’s outfit bearing ‘Azam-Cola’ emblem.
The new outfit will be branded with the new beverage ‘Azam Energy’ which is yet to hit the market for undisclosed reasons.
Kahemele said the new outfit will instantly be in use once the new product is introduced to the market but would not disclose the timings.
The Mainland premiership season kick off on Saturday as Azam face Kagera Sugar at the Kaitaba Stadium in Bukoba.
Earlier, the club had planned to introduce their new outfit during the Community Shield match against eventual winners Simba at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam on Tuesday.
The club also intends to use the new branded outfit in the Africa Confederation Cup league that kicks off early next year.
Appearing for the fifth season since winning promotion into the top flight berth, Azam have set sights on winning their maiden league title at the end of the season after coming close last season.
Azam remained on low profile during transfer window as they lost striking duo of Mrisho Ngasa and Ramadhan Chombo who crossed over to Simba.
However, they replaced British coach John Stewart Hall for Serbian Boris Bunjak.
The Serbian had the feeling of the premiership flavour when his side lost to Simba by 3-2 goals on Tuesday having thrown overboard a sublime 2-0 goal cushion lead.
