The Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) has been severely shocked by the death of soccer referee Masafiri Mkeremi who died at the Urambo Hospital in Tabora yesterday.
Besides practicing as a referee, Mkeremi also served as a member of the defunct Football Association of Tanzania (FAT) and the Tanzania Football Federation as well.
He was also a member of the Football Referees Association of Tanzania’s executive committee.
Mkeremi served many other posts in football circles as he was also a delegate of the TFF general assembly and Coast region’s FRAT chairman.
Mkeremi will be buried in Urambo on tomorrow, according to confirmed reports from his son, Masoud.
TFF has parted with 200,000/- as condolence to Mkeremi family.
Mkeremi, who has been troubled by blood pressure coupled with diabetes, is survived by two widows and twelve children.
