Position Description:
Overall purpose of Job:
To assist with planning, organization and co-ordination of the company’s payroll and HR function
Key responsibilities/accountabilities:
Payroll:
· End to end processing of company’s payroll(s).
· Collate information for above, process, produce reports and journals and file.
· Reconciliation of payroll related general ledger accounts.
· Preparation of various payroll related reports for managers.
· End of year processing and reconciliation including payment summaries.
Human Resources
· Co-ordination and management of workers compensation.
· Answering staff queries regarding payroll and human resources matters.
· Preparation of employee contracts and letters of offer/rejection.
· Provide advice regarding employee and industrial relations issues.
· Create job descriptions as necessary.
· Organize recruitment and selection including advertising, short listing applicants and correspondence.
· Ad hoc HR and Payroll matters.
Competencies required (knowledge, skills and abilities):
· Demonstrated end to end payroll processing and HR assistance experience.
· Customer service focus.
· Excellent written and spoken communication and interpersonal skills.
· Attention to detail.
· Numerical ability and data entry skills plus excellent Excel skills
· Ability to work to deadlines.
· Understanding of payroll and HR legislation and processes i.e. Interpretation of awards and legislation and tax.
