Position Description:

HR Administrator / Payroll Accountant

A Logistics company a Tanzanian based, transportation logistics firm, seeks a qualified individual to work as an HR Administrator and Accountant.

The company, founded in 2008, has a fleet of tractors and trailers as well as a variety of specialized equipment for hire.  The company, based in Dar es salaam , is growing quickly, with plans to significantly expand operations in Tanzania and internationally in the near future.  

The job will involve working alongside of members of the accounting and administrative teams in order to ensure that HR procedures are implemented and posted correctly.  Specifically the candidate will be responsible for:

·        Writing job descriptions and assisting in recruiting of further employees ·        Screening of new employees to ensure they have the necessary qualifications ·        Ensuring payroll is in accordance with employee contracts

·        Liaising with our HR consultant on payroll/ HR issues

·        Liaising with staff and management on payroll related queries

·        Maintaining Advance & Loan reports

·        Maintaining leave, sickness and overtime reports

·        Calculating and paying dues for termination of contract

·        Preparing and posting payroll journal entries in SAP

·        Reconciling payroll GL accounts

·        Preparing payment of payroll and related taxes (nssf, paye, sdl)

·        Maintaining payroll file (with all the above related documents) ·        Building and growing an HR team

The position requires a candidate who has significant experience administrative experience and a background in accounting.  The individual must be self motivated, honest and hardworking.  He/she should be comfortable working with and understanding a variety of accounting software, and have the ambition to help drive the growth of a young company.

 This person needs to have confidence and the ability to recruit and manage a team as the organisationgrows.  The company would like to fill this position as soon as possible, and so requires someone who is able to move quickly. 

Salary will be dependent on experience.
