Objectives of Internship  
The specific objectives of the internship are inter alia: 

1.                     To offer admitted candidates a working environment which will enable them to enhance their theoretical knowledge through practical work; 

2.                     To provide the intern with a better understanding of the work of the African Court; 

3.                     To enable the African Court to benefit from the input of qualified persons whose background will inject a new lease of life, an up-to-date academic knowledge, and thus enhance the activities of the African Court.  

 
Eligibility 
In order to be eligible for internship at the African Court, applicants should: 

1.                     Be registered in, or have graduated from a recognized academic institution; 

2.                     Provide a letter from the University or academic institution in which the student candidate is registered, for those still in school. This should include a brief description of the project or subject the student is working on;

1. Represent AVRDC - The World Vegetable Center in Eastern and Southern Africa in line with AVRDC's mission and vision.

3. Develop and implement, with the Center's Deputy Director General for Research, Global Theme Leaders and the Center's scientists, strategies and plans for the Center's research and development activities in Eastern and Southern Africa. 
4. Coordinate, manage and monitor the Center's research and development activities and evaluate the performance of its staff in the region. 
5. Encourage and motivate staff in the region to prepare high quality research and development proposals for funding. 
6. Support the Center's staff in the region to publish their research in a timely manner in peer-reviewed publications, and to respond to project or management reporting requirements efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities 
The incumbent will perform the following duties: 
1. Assist in the preparation of cases for the Prosecution (including testimonial, documentary, demonstrative, and other manner of evidence and law) for presentation, on behalf of the Prosecutor, at indictment review hearings, trials and incidental motions; 
2. On behalf of the Prosecutor, appear together with other trial team members before the Trial Chamber of the MICT to prosecute the cases; 
3. Undertake research and analysis of law and facts and prepare written factums, submissions, motions, responses and briefs during trial; 
4. Conduct evidential searches on OTP databases and maintain appropriate logs; 
5. Review and analyze material for disclosure to the Defence and maintain accurate disclosure logs; 
6. Review and analyze evidence being tendered by the Defence during trials;
