Position Description:
WORK STATION: Ilemela office, Mwanza
REPORTING TO: Group General Manager
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
A Tanzanian citizen
At least 30 years old and above.
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism
- With at least working experience of not less than three years in the same position
OR
Advanced Diploma in Journalism
- With at least working experience of not less than three years in the same position
- Excellent written and oral communication skill in both Kiswahili and English (fluency in English is compulsory); and should be creative, innovative, responsible, hardworking, well organized and flexible.
- Have capacity to work effectively under pressure, react quickly and meet tight deadlines
- Have knowledge of the law, ethics and industry regulation, and broad experience of their application in radio and the practice of journalism
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Report to Radio Manager
- Manage the newsroom operations and news productions
- Oversee and direct the work of news team
- Set and drive the news agenda in line with the house style
- Generate original ideas and approaches to the way stories are covered
